About Banner
Operational software, built by a steward, for stewards.
Banner is what we wished we had on the union side of the table: members, employers, contracts, dues, grievances, and the AI that helps you actually use them.
Why we built it
Most union locals run on a Frankenstein of Excel, paper, a stack of three-ring binders, and a person who is the only one who knows where anything is. When that person leaves, half the institutional memory walks with them. Grievance deadlines get missed because nobody had a tickler. Contract negotiations start from a Word doc from 2017 with someone's handwriting scribbled in the margins.
Banner is the system we built for our own local first. Members and their families. The employers and worksites they work at. The CBAs that govern those relationships. The grievances that arise and the deadlines that come with them. The dues that fund the work. And the documents — every contract, every poster, every form — searchable, signed, and audit-logged.
On top of all of that sits an AI that drafts the boring parts — the dues report, the contract redline, the grievance letter — in seconds, so stewards spend their time where it actually matters: with the people they represent.

Members
Demographics, employer, worksite, SSN (encrypted), grievance history, dues status, related documents — all in one card.
Employers & worksites
Companies your local has agreements with, the worksites underneath them, the business agents assigned, and the team assignments that scope what each user can see.
Contracts
Upload a PDF and the AI seeds a structured editor with articles, variables, signatures, and the formatting you'd expect. Drafts, redlines, exports — your CBAs as living documents.
Dues
Per-employer or per-worksite tiers. Late notices, member dues status, and the reports the executive board actually asks for.
Grievances
Tickets with deadlines, comments, attachments, and the audit trail that protects you when the company says you never filed it.
AI Reports
Ask in plain English. Get a real report with the right filters, the right columns, and a preview before you email it to anyone.

- Multi-tenant by design — every row is scoped to a local via Postgres row-level security.
- SSNs encrypted at rest with a separate key; reveals are audit-logged.
- Every create, update, and delete is logged with the actor, the before-state, and the after-state.
- Optional TOTP MFA on admin accounts.
